Neutrogena Wave: products, facts and numbers

We are glad to introduce to you Neutrogena Wave's products .
There are two types of power cleansers Neutrogena offers to its clients today: WAVE original, launched in the US in August 2009, and WAVE sonic, recently introduced to the market. Both power cleansers have two cleansing speeds (for daily cleansing and for deep cleansing). Moreover, they are water-resistant, gentle for daily use and dermatologist tested.
 

These two products are aimed at providing deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation and massaging in one step. WAVE original cleans the skin 10x deeper than traditional cleansings, whereas WAVE sonic, being  a spinning  power-cleanser, is able to do so 50x deeper. 
Besides power-cleansers, there are three types of refill pads nowadays: 
Gentle exfoliating pads
Foaming pads
Shine and blemish free pads

Basing on the information on the official website of Neutrogena, it is easy to conclude that WAVE's products  have good raitings. However, we decided not to stop on this and we visited MakeupAlley.comone of the largest social networks and information portal for beauty products, in order to find some facts about the Neutrogena Wave there. 
These are our findings:
• 289 rewiers evaluated WAVE original on MakeupAlley with the average raiting 3,1 of 5.
• Women aged 19-24 years is the main group of rewiers. Users aged 18 years and under is the second largest group, which evaluated WAVE's products.

  1. You have to define who is your TA and how would you position your product.. Would you focus more on functional aspects (high quality) or emotional ones?

    1. Dear Elena, our target audience would not differ significantly from that on other markets. Neutrogena WAVE targeted women aged 16-25 in the foreign countries. We decided to focus on women of 16-30 years old, because Russian women pay more special attention to their appearence than the US women, for example.
      According to several researches, cosmetics mainly brings emotional benefits to consumers, and we agree with this claim. The main focus of the WAVE is not to show the exceptional technical characteristics of the product, but to provide opportunities for Russian women to feel more confident, young, beautiful, so that "even friends would notice it".

  2. It is good that you used some statistics to show the ratings of the products among consumers, and the large information portal for the beauty products. This information helps to evaluate the consumer's satisfacion with the producs.

    However, which consumers gave the product review and participated in these ratings? In other words, were these ratings and reviews filled in by the consumers from from all countries where Neutrogena Wave's products are presented, or from some specific countries?

    It may also be useful to learn about the attitude to the product by the consumers which are from the countries similar to Russia (in cultural, economic aspects, etc.).

      Yes, consumers from different countries where Neutrogena Wave is presented participated in the review. However, the number of American consumers' reviews overweights that of other countries.

  3. One more point to add about the product)

    This product is of high quality and it has good effects on the skin of user as after the beauty salons. Usually,these kinds of products have special procedures and instructions of how to use them correctly.

    In my opinion, when you will be developing the promotion and communication strategy, you should consider some learning messages you will give to your customers about the usage of the product
